This will be short, because I have to get back to work. But I want to thank Slinkerwink for her commitment to the Health Care cause and for the positive ACTION diary she recently posted.
During my lunch break, I called two representatives in my area (yes, Texas) and found out their opinions on Health Care and the Public Option and went "on the record" with my representative voicing my support for the Public Option.
After my calls (which took less than 5 minutes), at her urging, I reported back to Slinkerwink and others reading the diary so that the "troops" would be informed of what different reps' positions were.
Re: tonight's speech by President Obama...I have no clue what he will say or will not say or even if what he says will be enough for Progressives or enough to get congress (esp. the Senate) to vote for a bill with the Public Option. What I do know however, is this--I am a citizen and although I have just one voice that is not connected to money, or influence, or power, I have a voice. And I can choose to use it to blog about my issues or I can use it to voice my opinion to the decision-makers (and blog about my issues).
Again, thank you Slinkerwink for you persistence, commitment and passion for reforming our Healthcare System. And thank you for the ACTION diary today!
If you have posted a comment today on KOS, please also call your reps to voice your support of the PO. If you've already called...call again. I promise, it will take no more time than posting a comment does.
Peace.
