I am glad that I made it home in time for President Obama's speech to the Nation concerning Health Care. The speech started out very strong, as the President said "I am not the first president to take up this cause but I am determined to be the last".
Very bold words.

I do have a few things that I am confused about though and that mainly has to do with the numbers, maybe some of you can figure this out.
- Do you think that it is really true that illegal immigrants WILL NOT be covered?
(We can all agree that Rep. Joe Wilson obviously thinks it is false.)
- Will this really be a DEFICIT NEUTRAL program?
We were told that it will take $900 Billion over 10 years and that "Reducing the waste and inefficiency in Medicare and Medicaid will pay for most of this plan. Much of the rest would be paid for with revenues from the very same drug and insurance companies that stand to benefit from tens of millions of new customers."
- Obama said that if we reduce the costs of health care by 1/10 of 1% each year that we can cut 4 TRILLION from our deficit in the long term. Well, what is the LONG TERM time frame and is this even possible.? The 900 billion and the 4 trillion are huge numbers.
I will be honest, I think the numbers are a little out there but who am I to say. I do think the President got off track when he attacked the previous administration. They aren't in, he is. I don't care about Bush anymore. I really thought that took away from the speech although there is a lot more that I liked about the speech than didn't.
