The Republican Extremists like to keep things simple, stupid. Simple hatreds: socialism, illegal immigrants, big government. Simple fears: socialism, illegal immigrants, big government.
So why do they hate the concept of universal healthcare so much?
Simple: socialism, illegal immigrants, and big government. Stupid.
So why do they hate Barack Obama so much?
Simple: socialism, illegal immigrants, and big government.
Hey, stupid, we get the picture.
Ok, ok.
So when the Tea Party Express (made possible by a generous grant from Fox News and FreedomWorks) descended on Washington on Saturday, there mission was clear: chant slogans, hold signs with slogans, and hate everything they've been told by the right-wing media that President Obama plans to do with our country.
Even if some of those plans were designed to help these very people.
I suppose with Iraq not making the front-page news anymore these ill-informed "patriots" needed another bogus "preemptive" war. And what better target than the imaginary dismantling of America by a foreign-born, Muslim, radical commie "president," with these lies being perpetuated by the nonsensical accusations of bile-filled conservative pundits and, yes, Republican leaders.
The Republican Extremist agenda is not complicated. In fact, it is very, very, very simple. Destroy any chance for President Obama to change anything in this country, especially if said changes would intensely benefit the American people. Because, as Rush Limbaugh has made abundantly clear, the right-wingers among us want nothing to emerge from the Obama Administration except failure.
Even if their "failure at all costs" agenda destroys American families in the process.
So there they were, numbers in the tens of thousands, marching on Washington. Walking past the history. Gazing at the monuments to great leaders, soldiers, patriots. Blocks and blocks of wonder at the majesty of America. Carrying their signs depicting the current president as Adolf Hilter, Joseph Stalin, Fidel Castro. Signs that read, "Bury Obama Care with Kennedy." These were not hand-made signs either. This wonderful and poignant sentiment was printed and distributed by the event organizers.
You stay classy, Teabaggers!
The 9/12 march on Washington was a joke. Lead by a joke (Glenn Beck). Organized by jokers (Fox News, FreedomWorks).
All in an attempt to stop the Obama Administration from giving some poor people some health care coverage.
For shame.
Thankfully it accomplished nothing. Obama wasn't even in town. And Congress was home enjoying their weekend. Nice planning. Next time you should plan your march for Easter.
