The NH Senate race needs attention from us now! It's already getting plenty of attention from Republicans. With her unofficial but strong support from the National Committee, Former State AG Kelly Ayotte may jump ahead of Paul Hodes in early fund-raising totals. Ayotte is staffing up with classy picks such as campaign manager Brooks Kochvar, former Chief of Staff for Michelle Bachman who also worked for Randy "Duke" Cunningham as a staffer during the time Duke was up to his eyeballs in unethical activity. Sen. Judd Gregg and former Gov. Craig Benson have opened up their rolodexes to the prospective Republican Senatorial candidate, working hard behind the scenes to advance her candidacy.
Ayotte just last week hired Laura Van Hove to her fund-raising staff. According to the Union Leader Van Hove has been the finance director for U.S. Senate runs by former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Jan Stoney of Nebraska. She is a former finance director for the Pennsylvania Republican Party and director for the Senatorial Trust at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).
Hodes is running hard for the seat and fully expects that he will be competitive in the money totals, but if Ayotte out-fundraises him this quarter, she will get a jumpstart with headlines touting her as the inexperienced candidate running ahead of the Congressman. Let's go to Act Blue and raise some money for this highly competent candidate for a very important Senate seat, the mostly likely pickup for the Democrats in 2010.
Go to Paul Hodes on Act Blue to donate to Hodes as our best opportunity for adding a Democrat to the Senate in 2010.
