A squad of U.S. special operations helicopter gunships, which were launched off a Navy vessel in the Indian Ocean, attacked and killed an alleged al-Qaeda leader in Somalia...

Don't be put off by the "alleged" part. We know he was one of those black-hearted Terrorists - thus removing the need to prove anything before killing him.
How do we know?
Why... the President said so!
Besides, this is at least the sixth time we've done this in the last three years.
Some context for those of you joining us late...
Somalia is the invisible third front of the Terror War, an American-backed "regime change" operation launched by the invading army of Ethiopia and local warlords in December 2006. In addition to helping arm, fund and train the army of the Ethiopian dictatorship, the United States has intervened directly into the conflict, carrying out bombing raids on fleeing refugees and nomads, firing missiles into villages, sending in death squads to clean up after covert operations, and, as we reported here long ago, assisting in the "rendition" of refugees, including American citizens, into the hands of Ethiopia's notorious torturers.
Together, the American Terror Warriors, the Ethiopians and the warlords (some of them directly in the pay of the CIA) have created the worst humanitarian disaster on earth. Thousands have been killed in the fighting. Hundreds of thousands have been driven from their homes, many fleeing to northern Kenya, where more than 215,000 people are languishing in a single refugee camp in Dadaab; 45,000 people have poured into the camp this year alone, says the UN. In some of the camps, Somali refugees are living without any shelter at all: "The BBC's Mark Doyle, who has recently visited the camps in Kenya, says some refugees do not even have a basic plastic sheet to protect them from the sun and rain."

Well... that's unfortunate. But it's not like they're Europeans or - heaven forbid - Americans. They're just Africans. They're used to living in squalor and misery by now, aren't they? Besides, there are still all those Terrorists out there!
So the solution to the crisis is obvious...
So what do we see from the administration of "hope and change"? We see -- wait for it -- a new "surge" of direct American involvement in the war, with Obama's most ferocious war hawk -- sorry, his top diplomat -- Hillary "The Obliterator" Clinton leading the charge. As Jason Ditz at Antiwar.com reports, Clinton has pledged to double the recently announced supply of American weapons to Somalia's "transitional government" -- a weak reed cobbled together by Western interests from various CIA-paid warlords and other factions, and now headed, ironically, by the former leader of the aforementioned fledgling state overthrown by Washington.

With fair market value paid to those arms manufacturers, of course. Freedom isn't free, you know!
So how are those weapons doing in the transitional government's noble attempts to beat back the forces of the fiendish al-Shabaab insurgency that threatens to - in Secretary Clinton's grave words - "destabilize the whole world"?
Al-Shabab 'Is Buying Govt Weapons'
The weapons that the US government donated to the Somalia's Transitional Federal Government is being sold in the market...
Traders at Cirtoogte market told Garowe Online that the new weapons on sale at the market are from the presidential palace.
