President Obama gave a great speech Thursday about his plan for health care reform, but unlike CNN and MSNBC, Cartoon Network didn't think it was worth covering. The video below offers a minute-by-minute account of what they thought was more worthy of their attention.
I don't know how Cartoon Network expects to be taken seriously as a news channel if they cut away from the President's speech to return to their regular news programming.
It's almost like Cartoon Network doesn't understand its basic mission of informing the populace. I know that's not literally true - they wouldn't call it Cartoon Network if they weren't in the news business - but their reporting is so sub-par that it often seems like they're not even trying.
Cartoon Network's reporters need to step it up if they want to continue to bring us the hard-hitting news stories we've come to expect from them.
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, is, quite frankly, a terrible news program. Sure, it's flashy and entertaining, but it's almost all fluff - they hardly spend any time at all on the important news stories of the day.
Here's hoping that that changes in the future. I'd love to see Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends become the well-respected news show that it obviously strives to be.
