(Note -- this is a little different for Daily Kos, but I thought it was worth sharing. I will also post it at Street Prophets. Cross-posted from my site.)
A friend sent me a link to this through email, and said he thought I might appreciate it. It's a video of the Agape Meal for the poor and homeless that Broadway Baptist does each Thursday night. It is a simple but moving video, one worth watching, and a ministry worth supporting. Make the jump and you'll see why.
Broadway is an historic church in downtown Fort Worth that made a conscious decision to stay an urban church, rather than abandon the city for the suburbs as so many other churches have done. As a result, the church has focused on ministry to the needs around it, as you can see on this page of their web site.
I know there are some on here who tire of anything religious, Christian, and especially Baptist, and frankly there are times when I share those feelings. I found this uplifting and refreshing, though, and hope you do also.
