Senate Finance Committee Panel votes to restore abstinence education money
A Senate committee voted Tuesday night to restore $50 million a year in federal funding for abstinence-only education that President Barack Obama has pushed to eliminate.
The 12-11 vote by the Senate Finance Committee came over objections from its chairman, Democratic Sen. Max Baucus of Montana.
Two Democrats – Kent Conrad of North Dakota and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas – joined all 10 committee Republicans in voting "yes" on the measure by Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah.
This is really pissing me off. These so-called Democrats don't have any problem wasting money on programs that just don't work. Need proof? Read here......
Texas Schools Sour On Failing Abstinence-Only Education
Nelson and Conrad both voted against the public option but on the same day apparently voted to support outdated Republican policy even though there is no support for it on the floor of the Senate.
THIS IS TOTALLY OPPOSITE OF THE REASON THEY GAVE AGAINST PUBLIC OPTION! THEY SAY THEY WON'T SUPPORT PUBLIC OPTION BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE SUPPORT ON THE SENATE FLOOR!
HYPOCRITES! LIARS! They need to be replaced because they are OBVIOUSLY NOT WORKING for America. They are working to keep their job.
How the hell did Ben Nelson end up on such an important committee. His voting record is definitely more Republican leaning than Democratic. See Here?
Nelson Supported Majority Vote For Bush Tax Cuts, But Not Health Care
Harry Reid has done an ABYSMAL JOB leading the Senate and needs to be replaced with someone with backbone.
What good is having a majority, if that majority keeps voting with the minority?
