It's right where it was when I last wrote about my lack of "papers". It's apparently been sitting on the desk of an assistant of Sen. Lautenberg's since October. And now... To add to my nightmare, I have since realized that I can't even go to Court to change my name, because, outside of my Birth Certificate, I have no ID in my Birth name.
It now appears, they, the kids in Sen. Lautenberg's office here, are trying to pass it off to my State Rep. I have another show booked for the injured servicemen and women at Walter Reed, and I am hoping that this will be resolved well before then. Sadly, it appears it will not. I contacted the ACLU at realnightmare@aclu.org, but, I expect they will once again tell me "We're too busy" and offer me, just as they did the last time no other referrals.
I have an interview for a second job, and hey! I can't prove I can legally work here. ah, the irony of being an undocumented American citizen. can't drive, can't travel, can't get a second job. But, I still have to pay taxes.

Any media outlets I can go to that will listen and retell my story?
LMAO - maybe I could go on Huckabee and let them see what a f%cking success REAL-ID can be?
Again, I know that on the Federal level REAL-ID hasn't been instituted, and several states have, to their credit and honor, opted out, but New Jersey is a REAL-ID State despite what the NJ MVC says:
MVC Comments Highlight Cost, Privacy Concerns with Real ID
For Immediate Release
May 23, 2007
NEWARK, N.J. — The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey today praised the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission for its substantive comments to the Department of Homeland Security about privacy and other concerns on a proposed national identity card, known as Real ID.
In early March, the Department of Homeland Security released draft regulations for the Real ID Act, which is federal legislation that aims to create a national ID card. The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission provided 63 pages of comments, raising concerns about security, cost, privacy and other implications of Real ID to New Jersey residents.
"With these comments, the Motor Vehicle Commission has demonstrated that it is a strong advocate for the rights and interests of New Jerseyans," said ACLU-NJ Executive Director Deborah Jacobs. "The MVC's analysis shows that Real ID would be a real nightmare of more red tape, longer lines, more identity theft and higher fees for New Jersey."

The NJ MVC requires 6 points of ID, including proof of a bank account(?), where the Federal regulations will only require 5 points of ID.
I work, outside of taking Disability during a brief stint of being unable to work, and Food Stamps, I have taken nothing I did not earn from the Government. Oh, I could have taken the "easy" way out when I was homeless, and quit my job, and let the shelter sharks put me on SSDI because of my brain injury like they wanted. But then, I'd still be in that shelter, and, without Identification, I'd die in that shelter. because I couldn't get into housing, and the Shelter Industry LOVES REAL-ID.
Still looking for delusions of solutions. Any ideas?
