A neighbor of mine (who is a "Die-Hard, Rebel-Red, Right Winger) and I had a brief conversation today. It all started off civil enough but then he mentioned how he couldn't wait for South Carolina - [I know. No JokesS Please :)] - to start getting their portions of the H1N1 vaccine. Well ... I just couldn't let an opportunity like this pass. So being the "Johnny on the Spot" I am I ask him one simple question:
How can Y-o-u ...
A person who has been sooooo vocal A-g-a-i-n-s-t any kind of Public Option in Health Care, Take a vaccine that is being supplied by ...
(Wait for It)...
the Gubment?
(Yes. I said it just that way)
That's when, I sware. I could almost see Smoke coming out of his Ears!
***Thanks to all who've read and rec'd the diary. I'm Humbled.

I'm thinking to myself: "This has been all over the news."
Reuters:
"By Maggie Fox, Health and Science Editor
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The first U.S. roll-out of vaccines against the new swine flu virus will be 3.4 million doses of MedImmune's nose spray, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Friday.
The CDC's Dr Jay Butler said the vaccines would be distributed the first week of October.
"Initially we anticipate that 3.4 million doses of vaccine will be available," Butler told a telephone briefing.
"We anticipate being able to start receiving orders for the vaccine by early October," Butler added. The U.S. Government is providing the H1N1 vaccine for free to about 90,000 distributors, including doctor's offices, retail chains and state health departments.
Reuters distributes it's articles to thousands of news sources around the world. Including ... FOX NEWS [I know. I know, makes me want to gag just typing those words].

Anticipated H1N1 Vaccine Shortage Has U.S. Officials Scrambling to Bring on New Manufacturing
Tuesday, August 18, 2009
A new snag in production of swine flu vaccine has the government hunting for more companies that can package it.
The man in charge of vaccine procurement at the Department of Health and Human Services says if there are early outbreaks in September and October, there could be increased demand for the shots.
"We're trying to bring on more manufacturing" for the packaging step that has emerged as a logjam, said Dr. Robin Robinson, the Department of Health and Human Services official in charge of vaccine procurement. "Hopefully, there are ways to bring that number up."
Health and Human Services expected to have 120 million doses of the vaccine by Oct. 15. But it now thinks it will fall far short of that — only 45 million — although that's expected to rise to 85 million doses by the end of October.
Of course, I won't hold it againt my neighbor that he probably didn't R-e-a-d this report. I doubt that it was spoken on camera (although I could be wrong) ... Or that my neighbor spends much time actually ... READING.
My neighbor never anwsered that question. He merely glared at me like he was having a conversation with SATAN himself. So given the opportunity that presented itself: I then challeged him (If he really believed the garbage he spewed at association meetings) to: Renounce his Social Security and Medicare. Then I would be more convienced of his loyality to his beliefs.
It only dawned on me after my neighbor Shot me a Look and Stomped Away Without Anwsering my question that it seems like a good way to:
Shut A Repug Up!
(That might make a good Battle Cry; Just Saying.)
So as part of my civic duty to all Democrats and Left-Leaning Independents (of which I'm one), and Rinos:
If you should ever get in a conversation with anyone opposed to Health Care Reform (Especially the Public Option) and they b-e-n-e-f-i-t from:
Medicare
Medicaid
Social Security
a Government Grant
VA Benefits
Dis-Ability Benefits
Un-Employment Benefits
the H1N1 Vaccine
the Health Department
Food Stamps
OR
Anything Else that the Gubment Provides or Guarantees then: Challenge Them to G-I-V-E I-T U-P and wait for "Tha Market" to correct itself.
That'll ... Shut Em Up.
Just My Opinion ...
