COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- In a stunning turn, Chicago was eliminated in the first round of voting for the 2016 Olympics.
Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid moved on to the next round of voting.
Seems everyone is a bit stunned. ABC just broke into a special report from the rally in Chicago where George Stephanopolous was asked "isn't this a big kick in the seat for the President?"
I would guess that the rest of the day will be filled with Republicans on national television talking about how Obama is losing momentum and isn't the rock star he thought he was because he couldn't bring the Olympics to Chicago. That will most likely be followed by Republicans talking about how many jobs could have been created by the Olympics coming.
Me personally, I'm okay with Chicago not being selected, gives us a better chance to host the World Cup in 2018.
Update:
Right on cue, here is the headline from Redstate
BREAKING: World Rejects Barack Obama. No Chicago Olympics
