It may have seemed like just a humorous segment for entertainment value on the front page of DKOS, but there might be something a little more fishy to Rush wanting to partner up with Dave Checketts to buy the rams. And what might that be?
In a Rachel Maddow segment, the Rams were the ONLY team in the NFL to give more than 90% of political donations to the democratic party.

It was somewhat funny to see the comments about this bit of news ascertaining that the Rams were just another redneck team and who cares. According to their political activity, they are very democratic.
Of course, there could be a million reasons for this- the most obvious one to me is that the Rams had recently moved to St. louis in the years before this study started (i believe it collected political donations from 1996 till 2003 or 04). So a majority of that money could have gone to any sort of local politician helping (or had helped and was now getting due rewards) with the St Louis stadium needs, AND who happened to have the "d" next to his name. But that is conjecture- I simply don't know and don't have the resources (particularly time) to find out.
But what do I know? That the partner Rush Limbaugh is working with is most definitely politically active: http://www.campaignmoney.com/...
In 2008, Dave Checketts gave 57,300 to republicans.
(in fact, now that i look at it, there is a SURPRISING jump in donations between 2006, which are all of $1,000, and 2008. I sense some corporate money spilling over from his sports team owning corporation)
