You disappoint me, Goldfinger.  You know Operation Grand Slam simply won't work.  Stealing all the gold from Fort Knox is ludicrous.  Fifteen billion dollars in gold bullion weighs ten thousand, five hundred tons.  Sixty men would take twelve days to load it onto two hundred trucks.  Now, at the most, you're going to have two hours before the army, navy, air force, marines move in and make you put it back.

Who mentioned anything about removing it?  I just need to place a rumor in a British Tabloid...

More on the flip....

Gulf Arabs have begun planning – with China, Russia, Japan and France – to move from dollar dealings for oil to a basket of currencies....

Secret meetings have already been held by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean oil will no longer be priced in dollars. The revelation was met with public denials yesterday.

Ben Simpfendorfer, Chief China economist for Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc in Hong Kong: "I don’t want to overplay the importance of the story. There’s no credible sources there."

Dennis Gartman, the US investment guru who writes the daily Gartman Letter, said that no one should be surprised to hear denials....  "The market will care not a whit."

Gold hit a record high of $1,043.78 per ounce in intraday trade yesterday, as the dollar fell on reports that Arab states were considering pricing oil sales in currencies other than the dollar.

I apologize, Goldfinger.  It's an inspired deal.  With your lies, market manipulation and false rumors, they get what they want ‑- economic chaos in the West ‑- and the value of your gold increases many times.

I conservatively estimate ten times.  But, who cares... I publish lies in a British tabloid, manipulate the market, hurt president Obama, make the U.S. look weak. What's not to like for a rich Republican like myself!  I'm just using the same forces that tanked the market in my favor!!! Free market, baby!!!  Now, would you like another mint Julep?  Ms. Galore, Get, Mr. Bond another mint julep as we find another way to destroy the American economy!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
