When did it become a political ideology to celebrate failure in America?

If I didn't know better I swear I lived in a Communist Anti-American
country.

Only there would I hear cheers when The US failed to achieve a goal,
of hear a chorus of ridicule and excuses if the US President was
awarded a Noble Prize or tried to make life better for the majority of
Americans.

What happened to this Country?

There is an entire block of US citizens actively undermining the
US President, Congress and hard working patriotic
Americans. These individuals hope that the Country, The Congress
and the US President will fail in their attempts to reverse the last
8 years of economic decline.

These individuals WANT America to Fail!

There are entertainment Channels whose sole purpose it appears
is to undermine US Democracy. These channels cultivate
anti-American opinions and actually organize protests against
the US Government!

The Entertainers on these channels cite unverified, erroneous half
truths and perpetuate urban legends as fact, not to educate or
enlighten but to sow dissent and agitation for one reason. Ratings
and money.

At what point does it become UN-American to try to undermine
this country for the benefit of financial gain at the cost of
American prestige and prosperity?

At what point do the American people say ENOUGH. We are
Americans first and we stand for America for better or for worst
and as Americans we will all join together to help America succeed
rather than celebrate and cultivate Americans failure!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:

Whenevewr I start talking to a few of my righty friends, I ask them if they love America. Most say, of course! Others, knowing and anticipating me a bit, ask "why do you ask?"

I simply say that those who celebrate un-american ideals ought to not get support. They agree. Then I tell then about those shows in which they espouse the failure of america.

The uncomfortable looks, the queasy clearing of throats, the sudden changing of subjects are all VERY telling.

I don't push them further. Unless they try to defend themselves. It's amazing how many try to by start talking about the past how those on the left wanted the then president to fail. I reply, "I'm talking about now. Not the past. Are you going to argue that idiotic behavior in the past automatically allows even more idiotic behavior now?"

Again, if they don't defend I don't pursue. I want them to think and mull on what they do. I want it to stay in their systems so that the next time they watch/listen to those shows they do so with the idea that the shows are saying un-american things.

  •  I want to say Failure is not an option, (0+ / 0-)

in fact i chose it in your poll, but those entertainers have made it an option on some level, and if it happens it will make them happy or something. Crazy, but they are crazy.

people.  What they want to conserve is rule by the few, the superior.  What they want to conserve is the superiority of heritage and inherited wealth over individual achievement.  The reason is clear.  Conservatives are not equipped to compete and achieve; they have been weakened by their reliance on heritage and family connections.  If their inherent superiority is not recognized, they are as nothing.

What does it mean when a nation's superiority is perceived to depend on having the atomic bomb and the heritage of having once used it?  How pathetic is that?

      •  I'm talking about the conservative moneyed (0+ / 0-)

elites who rely on inherited wealth to keep them in power.

When they oppose taxes, it's because they prefer the public debt to be bonded so they can get a cut.  While the class initially became powerful and wealthy by exploiting the natural resource base, dwindling resources and an environmental ethic make that kind of enterprise less profitable.

The entertainers are hired to be the circus so the populace won't notice that there's less and less bread.  But, the teabaggers have noticed.  They just don't know yet where the bread went.

  •  These people, thinking of an uncle, (0+ / 0-)

have some notion of an old America that was great, white and allowed them to be successful. Now they haev theirs and are set for life, but an America that has to compete, is truly diverse is mind-bogglingly terrible. They know they can't wind the clock back. The also know the world is passing them by and they don't like it. Nothing to do but let them take up space until they don't anymore, and try not to let their hated distract us too much.
