The Connecticut Post newspaper has an
article about Lieberman's possible run as an Independent.
Political analysts said Lieberman's failure to rule out an independent run lends weight to Lamont's challenge.
"It does underscore the viability of this emerging challenge," said Gary Rose, a professor of politics at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. "The fact he responded certainly indicates he feels that his candidacy is being challenged." John Orman, a professor of politics at Fairfield University, agreed.
"It shows that all the liberal Democrats giving him grief is starting to take a toll," Orman said. "It seems to give Lamont much more credibility."
The article goes on to explain that Lieberman's possible party switch isn't really a suprize due to his popularity among Republicans and Independents.
