Breaking and short diary:
Daniel Inouye has been getting relentless pressure from the defense sector about the Franken amendment that would allow employees -- victims of rape and assaults -- of over seas contractors to have their day in court instead of forcing a secret, binding arbitration. Franken's amendment would deny a government contract to those companies that did not comply.
Now, "since Inouye runs the show on this bill, he can easily take it out to get Republicans and the defense contractors off his back, which looks increasingly likely."

Let's make sure to let Inouye know if he does this he is done. Follow the jump to see the irony that this action may be taken by Inouye. Updated to include the detailed story of Jamie Leight Jones.
Over the course of his political career, numerous women have come forward accusing Senator Inouye of harassment, and one, his former hairdresser, even accused him of rape.
a female Democratic state legislator announced that she had heard from nine other women who claimed Inouye had sexually harassed them over the past decade. But the women didn't go public with their claims, the local press didn't pursue the story, and the Senate Ethics Committee decided to drop the investigation because the accusers wouldn't participate in an inquiry.

UPDATE 1: Jamie's story
Here is a great bit about Jamie's horrible experience at the hands of Haliburton/KBR contractors. The piece is written to shame Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH).
She found herself assigned to a huge barracks full of men. She complained to the company. Nothing happened. Four days after her arrival, she was socializing with some coworkers. One of the male firefighters handed her a drink, while making a comment about "roofies."
