Only in America.
So here's this goofy account of a Northern Virginian man, Eric Williamson, who gets arrested and charged with indecent exposure. What did he do? Made some coffee in his own kitchen at 5:30 a.m. while naked. And the rest of us are supposed to treat him like a pedophile priest?
Can't a guy get a little privacy?
The woman who says she saw him was trespassing on his yard, looking into his window. Now, imagine if we were talking about a woman, Erica Williamson, and a trespassing man was standing in her yard, looking in her window, then complains that Erica was nude. Would we arrest Erica for indecent exposure? No frick'n way. That snoopy perverted man would be arrested for being a Peeping Tom, right?
Eric Williamson said,
"Yes, I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me. I'm a loving dad-- any of my friends would tell you that," Williamson said. "There is not a chance on this planet I would ever, ever do anything like that to a kid."
The complaining woman is a wife of a local cop. She says she's protecting the children. The Fairfax police pledge that, if convicted, Williamson would be fined $2,000 and spend a year in jail. Apparently they feel that they have to protect the rest of us from early morning naked coffee brewers. Our tax dollars at work in the war on crime, or something. Heck.
