After a few media efforts recording Olympia Snowe as the only Republican "brave enough" to cross party lines to help pass a "bi-partisan bill" from the Senate Finance Committee on Health Care Reform my "Shill Radar" was on high alert! Her vote in committee meant nothing. In her own words it did not 'forecast what my vote will be tomorrow.' Naturally. Because you are a shill Skeletor, and not a very convincing shill at that.

A shill is defined as "an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims. Shills are often employed by confidence artists."
So touted in the media as a "Maverick," willing to go against her own party, regardless of the backlash so certain to happen to her from within her own party! The backlash, wait for it, wait for it....*crickets*
The Republican Party, unlike the Democrats, are, unfortunately, a well-oiled machine, and nothing that happens is by accident...or "rogue" for that matter. They may make some missteps because of arrogance, hello Miss Alaska, but they are very adept at making their politicians and the media tow the line. I smell Karl Rove. Did someone step in dogshit?
One "rogue" Republican votes with the Dems in Committee. Means nothing but to bait the line of a possible bi-partisan bill, right?? Not exactly. She has also stated that she will not vote for a Public Option, but rather a watered down, sure to fail, trigger option. As Dems and the media fall over themselves to bring bi-partisanship to the final bill, Olympia Snowe is suddenly the most popular girl in High School that everyone is falling over themselves to take to the prom.
Is it possible that the Repugnants have used her to get their outcome solidified? An outcome they can tout as supportive of curbing the monster that is the Insurance Industry while still bathing in the monsters money and sipping champagne with the monster? They know a trigger option will fail. At least I believe a trigger option will fail. I believe that even knowing that a few Repugs will support a trigger option means that they know it will fail too. Ergo, hitherto, therefore...The repugs place Snowe as a "Snowe Job" a shill to aid in their "intention, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims?"
I am from a middle class family, honest, tax-paying, and an unwitting victim of family members denied coverage or going through bankruptcy because of illness. I myself, uninsured, healthy for now, but not forever. This position makes me wonder if it's not just the Repugs, but the ConservaDems, and possibly many Dems, that are in on this "grift." Grift definition "A swindle or confidence game."
How many politicians have "clean hands" when it comes to money from the Insurance Industry or Big Pharma? Dems are just as quilty from what my research shows...
Author apologizes for the abuse of quotations (and calling Snowe "Skeletor," but I haven't liked her from the start and irriated that she gets any accolades...Wake up MAINE!!!!
