Isn't it time for a liberal gut check?
It is time for progressives to look themselves in the mirror and ask this question: "Would it be better if John McCain and Sarah Palin were in the white house"? Then, once you have answered that questions ask this question: "Could Dennis Kuceunich actually win a national election". Then ask this question: "Is it possibly that my progressive policy wants are not the wants of all Americans?" Then ask yourself this question: "If I decide not to support Obama would I rather than Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney be President"? Then ask this question: "When candidate Obama said he was opposed to gay marriage, did I think he was lying? When candidate Obama said he would govern for ALL Americans was he making that up? When candidate Obama said there would be fits and starts and that change would take time was he just saying it for funsies?"
Isn't it entirely possibly that "progressives" are actually liberals and when only 10% of the nation calls itself liberal dontcha think maybe, just maybe, most people don't want what you want?
Liberals did not elect Obama. Moderate elected Obama. People who voted W Bush in 04 then voted for Obama in 08 elected him. I don't know wxactly what ultra liberals like Kossacks (and admit it, own it, this is a site for uber lib's) were expecting. Did you think Obama would just wave a magic wand and make everything 1969 again?
Give Obama a break. Give yourself a break. If you are some dopey dope who actually listens to Dennis K you are the equivilent on the spectrum of someone who listens to Jim DeMint. You can't see that because you are blinded with hatred for the right, but trust me, they bend the idealogical spectrum with the same weight.
Give Obama a break. Gay marriage won't be addressed until 2013, same with most lib pet projects. He will never win in 2012 if he latches onto the far left agenda now. Accept it, own it and fall in line.
