A sentence in news reports about Fort Hood shootings is revealing.
"Officers raided the apartment of the soldier suspected in the shootings at Fort Hood, Texas, early Friday, searching for clues as to what caused the military psychiatrist to allegedly gun down soldiers he had taken an oath to help, a police spokeswoman said."
The above sentence demonstrates one typical response when things of this kind occur, puzzlement: we Americans are so nice, why would anyone treat us in such a nasty way?
Most Americans indeed are pretty nice and I deplore the loss of lives due to terrorist attacks. But why every now and then, someone did try to target especially Americans in such attacks? I condemn terrorists, but let us try to explore one possible cause behind their irrational behavior.
Americans sometimes do not want to reason. When Americans understand that they are wrong, they occasionally might not want to reason. My personal experience is a case in point. For someone as nice, gentle, and pro-American as I am, when I believe I was not treated in a right way, I could try to resort to law, but I was not able to bring the case to the court. I wished to reason in an investigation committee, but I was not able to bring the case to such a committee. I tried to write a blog here, but people did not care.
Well, after what I have done over ten years, for someone like me, I might have to put my loss aside and sigh.
Perhaps I might still hope that someday, Americans would be more reasonable in my case. Hopefully, what I have done would be regarded as being good for the U.S.
Would anyone read my previous posts and offer comments? Thank you!
Admittedly, the cause I mentioned here might not be applicable to Fort Hood.
