This is not a long diary but is a firm belief of mines. Just like Elective Plastic Surgery, if a women chooses a elective Abortion, they should pay for it, themselves......
The bill has written did not cut out birth control planning or counseling. In today's world, there are a number of ways besides the pill, that women can use or take in a effort to avoid unwanted pregnancies. If a women life was at risk or in the case of rape, the Health Care Bill, as written, would cover these cases.....and it should!
I am as pro-choice as anyone. In the same aspect, I have an issue with tax payers dollars going to pay for a elective procedure. For instance, if I really felt like I needed a nose job but my nose was not affecting my ability to breath, should I force others to paid for my new nose? No!
I have seen women that use elective Abortions as a form of straight up birth control. If the elective abortions terms was included in the health care bill, how many could a women have before being cut off? 1, 2, 3....the point is if you cover one elective procedure, what would be the new excuse, not to cover the next?
So, as many people on DK that my hate and flame me for my option (I know, its' coming), I agree with Congressman Stupak on this amendment being in the house bill.
