In this diary, I will not speak about the controversy over boycotting stuff. That's a beehive that I won't disturb. This diary is about what we can do to give Reid self-confidence about what kind of bill he should pursue in the end.
Follow below the fold.
I found Senator Reid's twitter page and I found out about a mobile survey he has been running. You can see it here. The survey is called "What's the most important aspect of health care reform to you?" and it appears he is testing the waters again the way that Dick Durbin was with his survey not long ago.
The four aspects he gives for you to decide are as follows:
Making sure people with preexisting conditions can get affordable insurance
Prohibiting insurance companies from dropping people when they get sick and need coverage
Creating a public insurance option to lower costs by creating competition in the marketplace
We should not reform health insurance, status quo is ok by me
All you have to do is enter your mobile number in the aspect you feel is most important amongst the four he offers. On his twitter page, he has given the results he has received so far and they are promising:
RESULTS: 2% say we should not reform health insurance, status quo is ok - vote now!
RESULTS: 13% say prohibiting companies from dropping people when they get sick is top priority- vote now!
RESULTS: 18% say making sure people with preexisting conditions can get insurance is top priority- vote now!
RESULTS: 67% say creating a public option to lower costs, create competition is top priority- vote now!
I know his survey is redundant, but I think he is testing the waters to see what form of reform he should pursue the most. I recommend you take part.
Now, allow me to fill the rest of this diary with funny stuff for you all!
Have a good weekend, everyone!
