And here we have the slapdown rebuttal to Senator Coburn's "all porn is gay" Chief of Staff who (approvingly) announced that "10 year olds have less tolerance for homosexuality than any other class of people."
Moron, meet Will Phillips from Arkansas. A 5th grader who won't say the pledge in class until GLBT's have the right to marry.
There may be hope for us after all.
CNN interviews Will and his Dad (who I'm guessing is not gay) about Will's courageous stance, his confrontation with his teacher and principal, his explanation to his parents, and his subsequent harassment as a "gaywad" by his peers.

All I can say is, 5th grade was about the most brutal time to be any kind of different--fat, gay, slow, non-WASP. I'd have chopped off my arm before I came out, even though I knew I was gay even then. Kids were meaner than I'd ever seen them before or since.
Watching this little kid--his resolve, his dignity, and his willingness to put himself on the line for other people--well, it made me cry.
For those of us in California and those of you in Maine (and throughout the rest of the country) who have had our hearts broken by our rights being taken away at the ballot box, take some heart tonight.
