There is nothing that sets my teeth on edge more than listening or reading about the latest ignorance disguised as an actual set of idea's coming from the "Party of Family Values Greed."
Let's go below and discuss, shall we?
Newt Gingrich, known serial wife dumper and all around ass is back in the news talking about his 1990's Contract With America and how a new Contract needs to be put in place for the 2010 elections.
Newt found the Lord a long time ago, then lost Her for a moment when he dumped his first wife, Jackie Battley, for Marianne, while Jackie was in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment. He found the Lord again, but whoops! Gone in 60 seconds after Marianne found out about Newt's long-running affair with Callista Bisek, his one-time congressional aide. Divorce II ensued when Gingrich asked Marianne for the divorce by phoning her on Mother's Day, 1999. Quite the charmer, isn't he? His timing is always SPOT OFF! BTW, Callista married him, too! Sucker.
I could go on, but I think you get the picture by now. Signing a contract with Newt Gingrich is a sure way to get screwed over every time. Just ask American's about that previous Contract With America, or re-read the above information if you missed the point the first time.
So, here is what Newt is up to recently.
Newt Gingrich, the former Republican House speaker and purveyor of the GOP "Contract With America'' that helped his party win control of the House after President Bill Clinton's election, says GOP chairman Michael Steele has started work on a new framework for 2010 that he is calling "First principles.''
"I've been talking with Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, '' Gingrich said today, speaking with students at C-SPAN's Cable Center Class.
"He is developing a first principles model that I think is a very exciting , positive step in the right direction,'' said Gingrich, who has said that he will decide by February about waging his own campaign for president. "B September , it might be very, very good for the Republicans in the House and Senate to have a common ground on which to campaign, whether they call it a Contract for America or some other device.
"Having a positive set of things that say, 'if you elect us, these are the positive steps we will take,'' Gingrich said, on a program that C-SPAN3 is airing at 5 pm EST. This "may well be the key building block to really become the alternative party, not the opposition party.''...
"If the Democrats stay stuck over on a very left wing program and if they continue to have a job-killing record in Congress, I think by September and October you could suddenly have a very exciting election.''
Positive Steps from Republicans? Positive Set of Things to Say from Republicans? Now that would be exciting, Newt! I can count on one hand all the positive steps Republicans have produced since the Nixon years, and that ain't exactly a good track record. The last time I heard any positive words uttered by anyone in the Republican Party, Eisenhower was still in the White House and I was in my crib.
For today's discussion, please list in the comments all of the wonderful destructive things Republicans have done for us since the Nixon Administration. OH! If you CAN think of anything they've done that is positive, PLEASE list that too! We are an open minded community here.
