I've worked on and off in the game industry for years, and I was tickled to see the above design pop up from one of my gamer friends. I asked him for some commentary about it, and he sent me this note:

"Why'd my graphic designer Corey and I make the Play for Obama T-shirt? Well, mostly because the president is a geek like me, and he'd probably enjoy a few hours of D&D in between late-night health care negotiations.
. . .
{more below the fold}

. . .
But hey, some people don't like how the president is handling those negotiations. That's cool with me. The ACLU and I are totally in agreement on this whole "Pray for Obama—Psalm 109:8" thing. People should have the right to wear any shirt that doesn't directly say "Kill the president." And this doesn't. Seriously.

But that doesn't mean it isn't incredibly juvenile. And if there's one thing being a game designer has taught me, it's how to be juvenile. I'm world-class at it, actually. I'd rather play a game than engage some hypocrites on the meaning of the Bible, which in my world doesn't hope our elected representatives die in office.

And that's why we made Play for Obama. Feel free to spread the love.

He has this design up at CaféPress, for anybody else who wants to spread the love.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
