#1 Asinus Asinum Fricat is back to blogging and has a great post up at La Vida Locavore called Tales From The Larder Olive The Empress of Oil Part 1
Homer called it "liquid gold." Olive oil has been more than mere food to us Mediterraneans: it's our way of life. The olive tree, symbol of abundance, glory and peace, gave its leafy branches to crown the victorious in both friendly games and bloody war. Olive crowns and olive branches, ancient emblems of benediction and purifiation, were ritually offered to deities and powerful figures but it is only in recent times that modern scientific research has proven over and over what the peasant wisdom knew a long time ago: its wonderful taste and health properties.
#2 52% of people are wildly misinformed about who would win a fight between an army of bears and an army of gorillas. This made me LOL so hard the other night

#5 New Birther Billboard New Birther Billboard In Colorado Features Picture Of Obama And Asks ‘President Or Jihad?’
Today, a new birther billboard went up above Wolf Automotive off I-70 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The sign has a picture of President Obama wearing a turban, asking, "President or Jihad?" and exhorting, "Wake up America! Remember Fort Hood":
ThinkProgress spoke with Phil Wolf, the owner of the car dealership. He said that the billboard is his personal project because he believes the American people have a right to know the facts about the president:
Wow, using Fort Hood to promote birtherism. That's pathetic Phil Wolf car dealership owner in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

#9 Cafe Press has dropped the whole line of Psalm 109.8 merchandise after they polled about whether it was offensive. Good move, but did they have to poll it to find out it was offensive and possibly criminal? The merchandise says Pray for Obama Psalm 109.8. That Psalm and the next few after it read.

9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labor.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.
13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
#10 White House Rebuke Angry Dems Shut Down Key Vote
Huffington Post Ryan Grim
"We will not be proceeding to passage today," Frank began. "I have been meeting with members of the committee, particularly the members of the Congressional Black Caucus, who have informed me that they are troubled by what they believe is the lack of response to the economic situation that is confronting them on the part of the administration, and therefore do not feel that they could -- in deference to the various constituencies that they represent -- vote for passage."
