Well, I probably shouldn't be giving Caribou Barbie any more attention, but because she's been such an epic fail, I could not help but go to her twitter page to see her tweets leading up to and after the procedural motion passed this evening.
Read them below the fold, but it all comes together with an important message from me.
I will only post the tweets germane to the cloture motion. For obvious reasons, I shall not link her twitter account.
Thot I'd stick w tour news on Twitter but can't help digress: Call senators! Tell 'em KILL THE BILL tonite;horrible govt healthcare takeover

Just got off flt/got word of Senate's disappointing action; USA-do u realize what's up in D.C?Senators-do u realize "change" coming in 2010?

Well, first of all, the Senate shall not switch hands in 2010 due to the fact that Congress will energize Democrats by being able to move forward with this legislation. Second of all, it seems Blanche Lincoln is not getting much love tonight. Any and all Arkansas Kossacks should give her a call, write her, etc. to try to coax her away from opposing the PO due to the fact that it has an opt-out provision and is not a government takeover. As Sen. McCaskill said, it's pretty hand-cuffed (but Wyden's Amendment is likely going to make it in to allow people more choice than what their employers offer). Frankly, I'm not too concerned about Lincoln, I think she can be made to warm on to the bill more. And if she doesn't, perhaps they can put in more money for medicaid reimbursement for her state to get her on board. She's difficult, but at least she's not some self-righteous prick like Lieberman.
We cannot afford complacency, we need every Senator and ever Representative on their toes. Call your Senators/Congresscritter and stand up for reform. If this bill passes, the RW's collective head will explode and we'll be re-energized for 2010. Now's not the time for over-optimism, now's the time we organize for victory. All for one and one for all!

P.S. The White House made a short chart comparing the fiscal details of the Senate bill and the Medicare Part D bill. It details how the Senate health care bill under consideration now is much more fiscally responsible to the Medicare Part D bill (which was half-assed).
Also, John "Gone Bats***" McCain is mad at the AARP for supporting a bill that "cuts" medicare advantage:
I miss the old McCain. The one who worked with Senator Feingold to pass campaign finance reform in 2003 and worked with Kennedy in 2005 to attempt immigration reform. But, hey, he's facing pressure from an increasingly insane Right. Still, what a tool.
Goodnight, Kossacks!
