Welcome to tonight's installment of The Daily Show and Colbert Report. It's Thanksgiving week, so things might be a bit slow around here, but hopefully it will still be a good time. Unfortunately, I could not find information on who tonight's guests would be.
Today has been an odd day. My landlord (who lives upstairs from me) is out of town for the holiday. The person who was supposed to watch their dog flaked out due to a family emergency, which means that that responsibility fell to, uhm, me. You'd think that I'd be okay with this (I am a "senior dog walker" at a local animal shelter, after all), but this dog is certifiably nuts. He's a standard poodle who is (a) barely trained, and (b) has a guard dog instinct, which means lots of random barking--some of which has been directed at me. I'm trying to keep a sense of humor about the whole thing, but I have no idea how I'm going to get him inside in a few minutes.
So what's everyone doing for Thanksgiving??? I don't have sufficient economic resources or energy for long-distance travel this year, but fortunately, one of my professors has been gracious enough to invite some of my grad school classmates and I over for a potluck dinner at her place. It should be a fun time.
