Even in difficult times, there's always something to be thankful for
I'm thankful that my parents are alive and well and still with us (late 70s, fragile health)
I'm thankful that my BIL has a job, and Sis may get one (floral design, one flower shop very interested in her)
I'm thankful that I was able to sell my house this summer and buy a great mobile home outright - greatly reducing my expenses.
I'm thankful I can still get COBRA through early 2011 - and hopefully, I'll have a job with benefits by then. Crossing fingers.
I'm thankful that the Lovely Rosebuddear is in excellent health, despite being a somewhat elderly pootie (nine years old).
I'm thankful that my next door neighbor at the old place is still a good enough friend to stop by for coffee every Saturday morning. (He calls me up every Friday and asks "is the Lovely Rose granting audiences this morning? He loves Kitty Rose, and brings her treats and toys every time he comes over).
I'm thankful that my beloved fiance Kevin will be on a plane tomorrow to visit me for two weeks. (Kevin is Canadian - we have been trying for a visa for a long time - probably can't manage it until I get a job again, as you have to be able to prove you can support an immigrant, but we're hanging in there.) 6 years is a LOOOONNNNGGG time to stick with somebody in a long distance relationship. But we are soulmates. And he's the most wonderful person in the world.
I'm thankful that I have enough savings to get me through a few more rough years if no job - unlike so many with nothing.
I'm thankful for so many good friends here on Kos. I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving and hugs to all.
Love, Rose
