After their first effort to kill the evil PO by requiring members of Congress to enroll in it failed because the Dems unexpectedly happily agreed, Vitter, Conrad, and now Bacus are trying to up the ante. They are planning to introduce an amendment today to require the president, vice president, cabinet members, and staff have to enroll in the PO too!

Conrad said; "While I oppose the public option, Republicans and Democrats can agree that we should live under the laws we pass. I can also think of no better way to ensure that the public option is responsive to our citizens than to have the politicians in charge of the system enrolled in the same program."
Me either! This is bi-partinship I can get behind whole heartedly. I hope every Dem rushes to agree, including Obama and Biden. Let's really hoist these guys on their own petards!
Didn't they know that Obama campaigned on pretty much exactly that, allowing the American people access to the same insurance that federal employees get? I guess some of these guys really do think the PO is evil, and thus no one in power would want it.
I say; "Don't throw me in the briar patch, Massa Robert!"
