Good morning Kossacks,
I would like to share my awesome adventure last night. I want to show you photos from the blizzard we had here in Green Bay Wisconsin. It was my first blizzard ever and it was totally awesome. As some of you may already know, I am from Southern California and even though I have earned my Badger State Stripes Go Pack Go I have never experienced anything like this in my whole life. So, I put together a small portion of the many photos I took last night with my cell phone. Have a look.
Note: Dear diary police. No, this is not a political diary. I'm sorry forgive me and have a nice day.
It was a slow night. So, I thought I'd use my break to run around the property taking photos of the blizzard as it made it's way into Green Bay. I have never seen snow like this up close. It was coming down in sheets. It looked like someone was spraying white foam all over.
It was utterly fascinating. The snow plows hadn't come out so it looked very natural. Whenever we have extreme weather like this, I often wonder what some of my first American ancestors did to protect themselves from the elements. It must have been difficult. But they did it for years.
Anyway, so I kept taking photos and even when I left to go home, I had to drive very slow so I managed to get some more shots as well. One of the photos shows a snow covered stop sign. I'd sure hate to be from out of town and not know where I'm going.
Despite the fact that the snow plows had just started coming out about an hour before I left work, they managed to clear the roads really fast so it was safe....until I tried to pull into my driveway and got stuck. But alas, my neighbor, being a typical big hearted Midwestern somehow, knew I was in need.
Out of nowhere, as it was seven in the morning and NO ONE was out. NO ONE but the snow plow, dude comes walking up with a shovel and starts shoveling a pathway for my car tires and help get me out of the thick 14 inch snow. How cool is that ?
Anyway, I captured part of this little adventure and created a slide show. But it wont work as a slide show so i have to post all the photos separate. So, grab a cup of coffee , tea or hot chocolate take a small break from the bickering and the holding of feet to various fires and .......
Enjoy.
