As one of those who has worked to elect D's since 1972, I read the repeated diaries and comments on the good and the bad of the President Obama administration and the President personally, and ask that we focus on the task ahead and how to build on what has been done. As a red state resident, Palin Land, as I call it, I do suggest that we all keep in mind how difficult the work is that remains to be done.
I prefer to focus on the bright spots and potential.
I started the day watching the talking head on FOX trash the President by noting some people in the audience seemed to sit on their hands and not like the President's Nobel speech and smirk. Sometimes watching Fox, during commercials on other AM shows saves my needing a second cup of coffee to get launched out the door to work!
But then when looking for that soundbite to put in a diary, I ran across this, on the top of Fox's website:
Fox News Poll: Obama's Job Approval Rating Regains Some Ground

President Obama's job approval rating has regained some ground and now stands at 50 percent, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday.

Then I got an article sent to me from NewWestnet.net about the filing for Governor of a fantastic Democratic Candidate, Keith Allred--see more at link.

Idaho, one of the most Republican states in the nation, elected a Democrat, Walt Minnick, a man with the same type of qualifications and credentials, to one of our two Congressional seats.
In the search for all we may want to see happen nationally, please do not forget that out in the hinterlands we are still building one vote at a time. Forgive us if we do not have much time or sympathy for the debate on the perfect over what is the achievable, today. Many of us are focused on building on what has been achieved after a long run of Republican domination, not only in DC, but in our state legislatures and governor's offices.
I appreciate the debate, but prefer to work on driving FOX readers and viewers nuts with more polling data showing the President gaining in support and the help it gives us out here.
