I don't usually post here except as part of series, GreenRoots, ecojustice, Feeding America -- but events as they are unfolding right now in Copenhagen DEMAND coverage here. This video below is nowhere near as shocking as the link above.
Outside the Bella Center, video just captured police beating protestors. Inside, here is Ben Wessel from Sustain US Youth Delegation in an emotional plea to people throughout the United States and around the world. from The Skywriter - 1Sky's Blog "Copenhagen on the Edge"

Starting yesterday, the UNFCCC, who is the organizing body for the Copenhagen climate talks, began restricting access for non-government organizations (NGO's) to the Bella Center where the talks are being held.
By tomorrow, there will only be 1,000 individuals representing NGO's allowed into the Bella Center, shutting out tens of thousands of people who have come to Copenhagen for the talks, from directly participating in the treaty summit.
The UNFCCC went even further this morning and completely banned people representing Avaaz and Friends of the Earth from entering the Bella Center. Link

UPDATE:
Climate Activists Stage Walkout of Copenhagen Conference
Dozens of NGOs, many in colorful traditional dress, marched towards the exits of the conference center chanting "Join the People’s Assembly" to the tune of Ecuadorian pan pipes. The idea was to hook up with protesters meeting outside, angry that they’d been kept out of the meeting. Some of these have threatened to storm the tight security surrounding the conference center and break in. (There were reports this morning of more than 100 230 arrests amid tight security and a police crackdown, including the use of tear gas.)
... groups most impacted by climate change – indigenous peoples and peasant farmers – had no influence on the talks, which he said were "hijacked by western governments and corporations that just want business as usual."
Update 2:
"Gordon Brown has admitted that it may not be possible to get a new deal over global warming at Copenhagen. He told the bbc that the barriers were "huge" but "not insurmountable." Talks are continuing in a bid to break the deadlock over emission cuts and financial aid for poorer countries."
However, they also report "that formal negotiation have ground to a halt following wrangles about what documents should be used as the basis for talks. Beneath the dispute lies a long-running accusation from developing countries that the Danish hosts are trying to sideline their concerns."

YOUTH COP CAMP OUT

Youth COP Camp Out!!
Today is the last day that NGO’s and civil society will be allowed access to the Bella Centre, and from tomorrow the negotiations will happen without the much needed presence of the international youth movement. However, the youth have not given up just yet, and have peacefully occupied the main hall, right in the face of many world leaders and the worlds press.
The action began in planning stage early this morning, when members of the youth climate movement managed to stage a secret meeting inside a big globe. The globe set was used earlier in the week by Greenpeace as their rescue centre, and the youth decided they needed to do some rescuing of their own. Quite how such a meeting managed to take place under the nose of the police and security is hard to explain, but we was helped by deafening police helicopter humming from the protests outside.
Starting a 5 o clock, the youth began their planned sit-in of the main hall. We peacefully began to read out the names of 11 million people who had signed a petition calling for a fair, ambitious, and binding deal in the next coming days. Unlike our friends on the outside of the conference, we were protected by the worlds press. This meant that we were not unnecessarily beaten by those who’d prefer it if we all just shut up whilst world leaders plotted the planet away.
The intended sit-in is now a camp out, with many of the youth refusing to move until that F.A.B. deal we need is in place. Members of the UKYCC Delegation are present to show solidarity with the global youth and to make sure they are looked after. We have borrowed and handed out blankets from Greenpeace, free food, sweets, water and beer. The guys camping out are showing real dedication and are of much amusement to the worlds press. Politicians will read "we don’t want your pennies, we want change" as they look down on the camp out deemed as the youths’ COP finale. One of the politicians was Senator John Kerry, who stopped to also show his support.
