I got the email from FDL this am: enclosed is my response. It seemed to me that they'd never respond, but I wanted to get this out there somehow, someway.

I think this campaign is deeply misguided. While I would love to have a true public option{or better yet, Dennis Kucinich as president and single payer all around}, we have to accept that we live in a world that demands pragmatism. Your campaign to undermine the president at this time is Ill advised, and must have madmen like beck & limbaugh giggling like school girls.
Jane,
let me ask you a question: what if we succeed with this thing? What if we turn it into the republican's Waterloo? What if, in the first year of this historic new president, we manage to make a bold statement about party unity? What if we could actually achieve something in progressive circles, in a way we haven't really been able to since JFK?
I understand the frustration with the stripped down version of the bill: and I share it. But I think this energy would be much better channeled where it could actually have a practical effect: i.e., against the reelection of senators like lieberman who continuously betray the party.
Best regards & happy holidays
