Partisan politics from newspapers is part of American history. This is fine. Publishers have an idea of what they think should happen, and they try to push it off on the public. Fine. The publishers take the economic consequences. In these days, newspapers are literally giving away their product in an effort to keep up the circulation numbers. The important thing is not the issue sales revenue, its the advertising. The advertising is paid for according to the circulation numbers; free or paid; just how many copies get into the hands of the readers.
Why does the Post, which is clearly a Republican paper and WH organ, exist in the most Democratic city in the nation? Because Dems are paying it to spew forth its shit, that's why.
The proposition to be considered: That we boycott the Washington Post.
MORE BELOW THE JUMP
Today, another
ridiculous op ed from Washing Bush's Post:
"Talking Points": a dismissal of the Dems by some idiot at the WaPo.
Think of it...."Talking Points." Right out of Fox.
Terry M. Neal's Talking Points
Little Opposition From Party of 'Obstruction'

Washington can seem like a strange place indeed.
This is a place where a president can try to score political points by accusing the opposition party of -- gasp! -- opposing his agenda. This is a place where the opposition party can try to score political points by opposing the president's agenda without offering much in the way of its own vision.....
Then of course this evening they choose to confirm this story with their phrasing of the failure of the Repubs to get their candidate to a vote:
Democrats Block Attempt to Confirm Bolton
WASHINGTON -- Democrats blocked another attempt Monday by the Senate to confirm John Bolton to become U.N. ambassador, delivering a second-straight setback to President Bush even as he left the door open to temporarily installing Bolton on his own."
Typical. The Bush house organ speaks again, confirming its little dickwad "Talking Points" op ed today on Dem "obstructionism'.
Which is of course based on the WaPo not reporting in any meaningful way on what the Dems are doing, Reid's statements, etc. Which is based on the WaPo's lazy non-investigative House-organ "kept" style of journalism. How can they pay these idiots for maybe one hours work every 7 days??? And most of that hour is reading the WH talking points.
Do I need to recount the cutesy bullshit sketch on Conyers hearing by Dana Milbank?
No Dem needs to buy this paper. Their circulation needs to shrink quickly by about even 5% and they will get the message. If they don't they can f^cking disappear for all I care. Something better will take its place. A column by EJ Dionne once a week is not enough to justify this rag.
Why would a liberal, Kossack, progressive or Democrat buy the Washington Post? Aren't we about 80% of their readership?
You tell me why we shouldn't boycott this paper? shouldn't D. C. Dems just stop pickin up the Post? This is power, people. All we have to do is take it. Nobody really NEEDS the WaPO. We can get the movies, the news, ads, all the op ed we need on the internet. Buying the Post is just a habit. A bad habit. And it's hurting us. WHY ARE WE ACTING LIKE SHEEP WHEN WE HOLD THE POWER?
