Sen. Richard Shelby (R-X Files) says he hasn't yet seen Obama's birth certificate. So, my proposal is simple, let's show it to him.
The first link I found on Google Images for the birth certificate is this one. Of course, I encourage you to send the distinguished Senator from Alabama a kind e-mail pointing him in the right direction.
You can also reach him directly at senator@shelby.senate.gov.
P.S. I am wholeheartedly offended that a United States Senator (let alone one from the extreme right) would perpetuate such a conspiracy. When this was restricted to the far right blogs, I thought it was just a few children at play. Now this is getting to the point where the President of the United States is being slandered by a partisan, angry, bitter United States Senator.
Time for him to be educated. Sad.

UPDATE: My e-mail to the Senator:
Dear Senator Shelby,
I was surprised to learn this morning from the Cullman Times that you
haven't seen President Obama's birth certificate. I know that you are
still angry that your constituents in Alabama will be receiving extended
unemployment benefits, but this is ridiculous! Surely a distinguished
United States Senator such as yourself would know that President Obama
was born in the United States and recognize a dark horse conspiracy
theory when you see one.
Anyway, I'll be happy, as a citizen of the United States (hopefully you
won't demand a copy of my birth certificate to prove that!), to show you
a copy of our President's birth certificate. It's been in circulation
ever since a few of Rush Limbaugh's listeners demanded it. Wasn't it so
nice of the President to go out of his way to please your party? I
think you should take him and the first lady out for dinner or
something.
There's this new-fangled contraption online called "Google." Just by
clicking on "Images" and typing in "Obama birth certificate" you can see
several copies of it! By the way, it does show his full name, Barack
Hussein Obama, just to warn you in case the "Hussein" thing freaks you
out. You'll find a link to it at the bottom of this e-mail.
Thank you for your time Senator, I am sure by the time Obama's term
ends, you'll have read this e-mail.
In the mean time, have a wonderful year!
Sincerely,
Kyle R.
Citizen of the United States
