Well Harry it looks like you're in a bit of a pickle.
I mean, how many times have we had to endure the phrase "We don't have the votes" on everything from Health care to EFCA to Climate legislation? How many times have we had to endure the talking bobble-heads on CNN yammering incessantly about the absolutely essential "filibuster-proof majority" necessary to "move things forward" and "get things done." How much claptrap have we had to endure about the need for "Bipartisanship?"
To Hell with Bipartisanship. You were hired (and paid) by us to get something done. If you can't do it now you've got no excuse. And I don't want to hear about "Blue Dogs" or "Yellow Dogs" or Corn Dogs. Once that Goddamn piece of paper is signed by Pawlenty YOU have the responsibility to get something done, whether the Party of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney and Mark Sanford likes it or not.

I am so SICK and TIRED of hearing "We Need Sixty Votes." Especially since the Republicans haven't actually ever filibustered ANYTHING in this Congress. All the whining about "60 votes" really comes down to one thing--they had their caucus together enough to intimidate you into doing NOTHING. The "We need 60 votes" canard was just a convenient excuse for you not to do your Goddamn job, which is to push through your parties' position--NOT "make nice" with the party that impeached your last President and wrecked the country in the eight years that followed. If they wanted to filibuster the needs of Americans--the solution was "let 'em." Not to whine and do nothing.
But you don't have to pay attention to me. Because the whole Goddamn Media establishment you've fed this EXCUSE to over the last three years has internalized it. They all believe "You've Got To Have Sixty Votes," blah blah blah." What do you think they're going to say if you fail to deliver? What do you think your constituents are going to say? After all, you only needed those "60 votes!"
Well, you GOT 'EM, PAL.
Either Perform or STEP DOWN.
