It seems we here at Dailykos want to hit Whole Foods for their incredible lack of understanding of what is good for the American people. Anti-union. Calling HCR "Obamacare." ew. ugh.
I just wanted to share with you what I will be doing on Sunday to compliment my boycott.
Since most families get their shopping done on Sunday, my girlfriend and I will be heading to one of the two Whole Foods here in Philadelphia. We will be handing out information. I tend to like to keep any and all fliers to double-sided one page. Keep it simple and informative.
In this case we will include the WSJ Op-Ed by John Mackey. Let folks read his nonsense for themselves. Of course we will bold the most disgusting parts. We will also have a very brief bullet-point rebuttal along with this underneath:
However, its standing as the 2nd largest anti-union retailer in the U.S. beaten only by Wal-Mart shines a less than fair light on the grocery store chain. For nearly 2 decades Whole Foods CEO and co-founder John Mackey has managed to maintain his multimillionaire status while Whole Foods employees remain in the $8 - $13 hourly wage. With a turnover rate of 25% per year and an average employee span of only 4 years, most "team members" will never reap the benefits of seniority.
On the flip-side we will have a very detailed list of local farmers markets. We feel it is just as important to provide people with answers when pointing out problems.
Any other pointers would be very much welcomed. I hope others will see just how easy it is to get the info out in a polite and helpful way and maybe take an hour or two at some point to do this.
I can't wait!
