I listened very carefully to what Richard Perle said on NPR this morning, to some extent there's truth in what he said the mishaps in Iraq aren't Rumy's fault, I agree... When Perle was asked who's fault it was ... he said Bushes ...
I don't understand why we continue to fall for this OLD Repug smoke and screen, bait and switch. Keep the attention away from the Bushes, the Carlyle Groups and all the money that is yet to be spent on Iraqis jobs and Armor for our troops ... come on it's been 2 fricking years and it's still all Rumy's fault??? I know it probably feels good for some of you to pile on Rumy.... But are we that easily distracted?? Answer = Yes! Didn't we just come thru an election where we established it was Bushes fault..
No prominent DEm to date, since the GI's statements in the press about the lack of protective armor has come out and said it's Bushes Fault ...(they have all feel for the bait, media hype of Oh will Bush fire Rumy. I say the question should be why doesn't Bush fire himself? as stupid as that question sounds atleast it's a more astute response... to why aren't our troops protected.
When we fall for stuff like this it elevates Buah or appears to elevate him in the eyes of the press, that it's not Bushes fault that over 1000 + troops are dead.
I'm really on the verge on giving up on the Democratic Party ... we need or at least I need a bolder party to invest my time and money with ...
The debate should be why did America stand by Bush in spite of this ... Answer = Scare Tactics

In the Dec. 20 article, "White House Stands by Beleaguered Rumsfeld," the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the U.S. Senate, Republican Richard G. Lugar, is quoted as saying that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld "should be held accountable, and he should stay in office."
But what sort of accountability does Lugar have in mind if Rumsfeld is to keep his post? Will Rumsfeld be sent to bed without his supper? Will he receive 40 lashes?
We hear much talk about accountability from the Bush administration and from Republican leaders in Congress, but talk is cheap, and mild tongue-lashings, accompanied by exuberant praise, are all the consequences ever reaped for incompetence among the neocons who have hijacked power in this country.
