I am not 100% sure how ping ponging healthcare works, but President Obama needs to get healthcare reform through the House and Senate again and on his desk before January 19th, where Democrat Martha Coakley might lose to a Republican in a Massachussetts Senate race, of all places. He needs to force Congress to come to Washington and ping-pong the Senate healthcare bill through the House and Senate quickly before January 19th, when the clock could stop forever.
President Obama needs to plan accordingly in case Democrats lose their 60th vote in the Senate in less than two weeks. Lets just think about what would happen because I am not 100% sure.
Would Democrats just have to give up on reform all together and a whole year of work be flushed down the toilet or would they simply be able to pass the Senate bill with zero changes in the House and make sure that it doesnt have to go back to the Senate where it would die? I havent been given a clear answer on how this would work.
The safe bet would be for this President to call Congress into session immediately and finish this damn bill before the clock potentially runs out for good.
