I don't know if Sarah Palin just stumbled into this or is crazy like a fox. On CNN's Campbell Brown show a few days ago they were speculating about the likelyhood of a female president in the near future. Of course Palin's name came up. They didn't spend a lot of time on Palin, rather made the point that both Palin's and Clinton's defeats set back the progress towards a female president for some time.
But that got me thinking, one one hand she's an obvious possibility for the GOP. On the other, the GOP party chiefs proabably know she would be poison to thier chances of regaining control of the government. Even though her chances of winning are near non-existant, she and the nutty tea-bag fringe could make her a big-time spoiler. So, if I were her I'd start making a lot of noises about considering a run, and then negotiate for some sort of sweet deal in return for not running. I'd say she has a lot of leverage right now, and by all accounts is not afraid to use it. Predictions?
