There are plenty of pie fight diaries, and this is not one of them. If it were, I would prefer that it involve Moe, Larry and Curley.
Its great that president Obama is coming to campaign here on Sunday, and that former president Clinton was here on Friday. (I am among those who supported another candidate in the primary; thinks that the Coakley campaign and the party were complacent at best; and who thinks it is important that we elect Coakley and not Brown.) But as someone with an ear closer to the ground than what is on the national news, I am also pleased to hear about efforts that you won't see on the campaign web site or necessarily in the media.
For example, Drinking Liberally is organizing a phone bank in Northampton. Also in Northampton, governor Patrick is joining local activists for a rally and visibility on Saturday (see Facebook announcement) And State Rep. candidate Margot Barnet reached out to her supporters to turn out for the Clinton rally in Worcester. These are signs not of a letharic Democratic base -- but renewed energy in the home stretch.
These are real live activists doing real live activist things and they are bellwethers.
If you live in Massachusetts and are not plugged into local efforts like these, or plan to visit the state in the home stretch, here is a list of the remaining major Coakley campaign events. See the campaign web site for a comprehensive list.
