Actually, I almost did too. Long story short, both my wife & I have cell phones. We got our cell phones at the same time so the numbers are sequential xxx-xxx-xx28 (mine) & xxx-xxx-xx29 (my wife's). I should have known something was up when my phone rang and then my wife's phone rang 1/2 second later and both were from 202-461-3440. Now I know enough about polling to know that any real polling needs randomness and phone numbers would not be picked sequentially....
I didn't answer mine...but my wife answered her's....it started off pretty straight forward...
Are you registered voter in Massachusetts? - Yes
Will you be voting in the special election on January 19th? - Yes
Will you be voting for Brown? - No
Will you be voting for Coakley? - Yes
..and then it went into some question about big spending liberals or something 'Studies show that Liberals make 25% more and yet give 25% less than Conservatives. Do you find that plausible?" ---err...what...no ?
Would you like to answer more questions about global issues....err...not thanks...
I did some quick research that number (202-461-3440) and it appears to be from 'Peoples Research Elections' or 'People Researching for Honest'. Probably not a real poll, but IF someone report these number later today, you can call bullshit on them :)
Update
I should have specified that it was a computer on the other end, and not a real person. I would have LOVED to tie them up for hours on end.
My wife recalled the obvious push question a bit better. It was along the lines of 'Studies show that Liberals make 25% more and yet give 25% less than Conservatives. Do you find that plausible?"
