Not much of a diary, and not breaking news, I know, but at this late stage, it's important to be as certain as possible about just what was said at the instantly-infamous Scott Brown rally, in what context, and, even more importantly, Brown's reaction to it.
This better-quality (and closer-to-Brown) version of the clip makes it clearer both what was said as well as Brown's reaction. It's only 9 seconds, but it's the relevant 9 seconds:
You clearly hear someone shout out something about how Coakley should "commit suicide!!" followed immediately by the "shove a curling iron up her butt!" comment--and then immediately followed by Brown smiling, nodding, and saying "we could do that!"
What isn't clear is which comment he was responding to, since one was said right on top of the other. Either way, it's pretty damning of Brown, since both comments were pretty revolting. He was either smiling an nodding at the "she should commit suicide!" shout or at the "curling iron" shout.
For what it's worth--and this doesn't really change anything--The emphasis on "her" in the "up her butt" comment is definitely in reference to the child rape case from Coakley's D.A. days referenced in previous diaries about this ugly rally.
Still revolting, and Brown's reaction and response are still pretty telling.
