I know. This isn't what you were expecting. It's not a diary on the MA-Sen race (see much of the Front Page and Rec List!). It's not about Haiti (if you haven't donated yet, then get thee here or to the aid operation of your choice and do so!). Nothing serious, like the myriad other topics we discuss here daily.

It's not even about pooties. The other topic off-discussed round these parts :-).

No, it's about supporting one of our own in an endeavor important to her. Join me below the fold for more...

Many of you know virgomusic as a C&Jer and as a Top Commenteer (obshamelessplug: she's our TC Diarist du Jour, so send those nominations in to topcomments at teh gmail!). She's also a Front-Pager over at Little Blue. Did I mention she's a musician and has played the piano and sung at all four YearlyKos/Netroot Nations?

In addition to all this, virgo has a music blog. It's well-written and positively upbeat - no pie fights and tearing-down-of-thy-neighbor allowed! And just last week, that wonderful blog got noticed by the Grammy folks, who invited her out as their Community Blogger on Classical music. This is a fantastic honor, as out of all the music bloggers writing today, they asked her. Out of the blue.

However, in true Hollywood fashion, nothing in life is free. Ever. They've handed virgomusic this great honor, then said "BTW, you gotta pay for all your expenses from airfare to food to shelter yourself, kthxbai."

She's almost one quarter of her way to her goal of $1000 to help her attend. She leaves in a week. Can you help out with a donation of $5? There's a nifty PayPal method, or you can contact her for a snailmail address.

I said this diary wasn't about the MA-Senate, Haiti, or pooties. Well...

virgomusic lives right here in Massachusetts.

Mr. Virgomusic (aka McDoc) is a doctor currently preparing to head to Haiti next month on a relief mission.

And they have the most adorable pootie ever.

Thanks for reading, and with your help we'll soon be virgomusic's onscene take on the Grammys!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
