"If class war is being waged in America, my class is clearly winning..."
- Warren Buffett
How many times have you heard right wing pundits claim "class warfare - oh that doesn't work anymore". Really! Let's call their bluff.
America’s wealth is highly concentrated in a relatively few hands. The top one percent of households own 38% of all privately held stock, 61% of financial securities, and 62% of business equity. The top 10% owns 80% of stocks, bonds, trust funds, and business equity. America’s income inequities have grown steadily since instituting Reagonomic tax policies.
I'm with Katrina vanden Heuvel's recent article The Massachusetts Lesson: Go Populist Now
"The Obama White House needs to show, quickly and forcefully, with concrete, bold and visible action, that it stands with the working people of America. Here's a symbolic but smart start: jettison those on the White House economic team whose slow, timid response to the crisis of unemployment and to Wall Street's obscene excesses helped create the conditions for the Tea Party's inchoate right-wing populism."
I believe that the reason right wing pundits repeat their nonsense about class warfare is they're scared to death that Democrats will use it. It worked for FDR and it will work for President Obama. CAll THEIR BLUFF NOW!
