I just wanted to share my message to Senator Webb, who (it is reported) stated that the Dems should wait until our new Tea-bagging Senator is seated.
Follow me below for the letter...
Senator Webb,
I am really glad to hear that the message you take from tonight is that Democrats have to become even weaker.
I can't express enough how I feel that the Democratic majority, with 60 votes in the Senate, has just moved far too fast. I really think you should start by debating health care for another few years.
On other issues, I'm afraid that bill which instituted a cap and trade program, without giving one inch to the energy companies, was just moving too fast for the country. So, liberal!
When you rammed EFCA through the Senate, as Democrats promised, it was such a bold move that people were afraid of the strength of the Democratic party.
Getting back to the health care bill, I was shocked at how progressive the Senate could be -- by not giving the Rx makers, insurance companies, along with providers and device makers any slack. You guys really stuck it to them!
Great work, but you are simply moving way too fast for the rest of the country. We're very slow, and would like to continue talking more than the Senate is used to doing.
That was why I was so glad to hear that you think we should wait more for health reform!!! Maybe when we have a whole lot more 'tea baggers' in the Senate (due to the scary strength exhibited by the Senate Democrats), we'll have a better mix of Senators who really care about the poor in this country.
Keep up the talking,
(Thenumbersguy)
