On the eve of the one-year anniversary of his historic inauguration, Barack Obama's Presidency was abruptly ended by fleshy family man Scott Brown.
With Brown's stunning victory, Democrats not only lost control of the Executive branch, but half of the Legislative branch* as well — what had been a Democratic supermajority suddenly became a Republican superminority.
We all might as well just give up now.
*To say nothing of the Judicial branch.

Despite his impeccable teabagger and birther credentials, Glenn Beck harbors some concerns about Senator-elect Scott Brown.
BECK: I want a chastity belt on this man, I want his every move watched in Washington. I don’t trust this guy. No, I’m just telling you. ... This one could end with a dead intern. This one could end with a dead intern.
COHOST: Dead intern? I’m not sure I’d go that far.
BECK: I’m just saying it could end with a dead intern. ... I’m just saying: Congratulations, now let’s monitor him. Let’s put an ankle bracelet on him. Let’s just know where he is at all times.
While Beck was apprehensive about Brown's arrival in Washington, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) was more than happy to welcome him as a savior.
"How could you possibly take away, spend enough money, and take away enough liberty, that the three-and-a-half to one Democrats to Republicans in Massachusetts would elect the Republican to come down to the United States Senate and vote against cloture, so that the Harry Reid bill could be killed in the Senate?" King asked rhetorically. "How could you ever spend that much money? I didn't believe it was possible, Mr. Speaker. But I -- some would say a miracle has taken place tonight, and I wouldn't disagree with that. I believe there has been intervention, and I'm grateful for it."
And speaking of the Lord, our ally in the War on Terror...
"My wife made a good observation yesterday when we were taking about this story, and that is, 'Hey, wait a minute, the Taliban and the extremists -- what is it they say just before they blow themselves up which kills somebody, they say, 'Allahu Akbar.'' So if anybody's making this a religious thing, they started it," [Fox News' Steve] Doocy said.
Heaven help us.
