I moved to Florida about 6 months ago but I got a call from the FRC on my cell phone which still has a Pittsburgh area code. The first question asked if I supported President Obama's HCR. I replied yes. Has anyone else received such calls? It would be interesting to see how the polling goes when the respondent answer NO to the first question. The next several questions escalated to pure, ugly push polling...
The robo-voice then asked if I favored government money being spent on abortion. Fair enough, I suppose. Then I was asked if I favored a government take-over of health care. Then I was asked if I favored Medicare benefits being cut for seniors by 50%. Yes, 50%. Classy.
My sense, as a 48 year PA resident, is that FRC plans to engage in the SantorumToomey/Specter/Sestak battle in a big way. FRC will spread the poison early and often. Sestak does worse than Specter against Toomey in the current polls but my sense of PA is that Sestak will do better than Specter once his name and record are more widely circulated.
Listen up Dem leadership (not you Madam Speaker - you already get it)! Ya wanna another senator from the Club for Growth? Then stay the course with your effete (oh yeah, you heard me, the E word) , timid governance. We know the Republicans are the party of NO. Stop the sloganeering, yammering and excuses. Just show us some meaningful results on jobs and health care reform.
