"Freedom from Corporate Domination"
This is the meme that can win for us, and it IS a winning meme. The Supreme Court gave us the perfect opportunity to use it. But it has been waiting there for us to pick up and run with it ever since the crash began.
It is the meme that was lurking under the Obama victory, and yet since then he and his administration seem to have turned their backs on it.
Let's not bother to ask why. Let's just join our voices to drive them back to it.
The corporations are foreclosing on us, they are ripping off or denying us health care, they are the ones who sacked our 410Ks, they line their pockets while they lay us off from our jobs or ship our jobs overseas.
People are afraid, and they are mad.
The Obama administration gained office on it, but then turned its back on progressive populism and up sprang the tea baggers, the tea partiers.
You call it class warfare and dismiss it if you want, but the US electorate is desperate to know who to blame. Led by Republicans, they will blame the government.
We need to be free from corporate domination. We need to regulate them off our necks.
We need to frame it THAT WAY.
Attention: E. Warren, C. West, B. Borne, E. Spitzer, anyone willing to take up the mantle of Paul Wellstone. Put the WH on notice that the time to turn this around is slipping away, but the right framing and the right actions can start TODAY with executive orders, legislative proposals.
